Day 5 – Semois Valley

**My Big Adventure – Day 5: Semois Valley**

A Traumatic Night

Last night was simply *horrific*. The spare hooman decided to put me in my crate—in a strange, unfamiliar room—and then sealed all the

exits! Can you imagine? Naturally, I panicked. The only reasonable thing to do was to try and eat my way out.

Unfortunately, this brilliant plan went wrong. I chewed a hole in the top of my travel crate, but then my head got stuck. I shook and wriggled, but instead of escaping, I tipped the whole crate upside down. Thankfully, my favourite hooman—Dad—rushed to my rescue. He made the hole bigger, freed my head, and gave me snuggles until I calmed down. Then he brought my crate and bed into their room, where I finally fell asleep in peace. Dad promised we’ll all sleep in the same room for the rest of the trip. Thank goodness.

Into the Forest

I did, however, get my revenge on the spare hooman later in the day by charging full-speed into her shin. Dad even got it on video!

After breakfast, we set off on a proper adventure—a 6.5-mile forest walk to something called the *Giant’s Tomb*. And wow, was it amazing! Tall forests where I sprinted through the trees at top speed, a river perfect for paddling, and so many squirrels and birds to chase with my eyes.

There were plenty of steep sections where the hoomans stopped to admire the views (and, of course, take endless photos of me). I was far more interested in all the smells. At one point, we took a detour down into a massive open field. That’s when I really let loose—zoomies galore! I charged up and down through the long grass like a lunatic, tail wagging so hard it nearly fell off. That’s also where I got my “shin revenge” on the spare hooman. Worth it.

Dad panicked a few times when I sprinted off to say hello to strangers, but don’t worry—I always came back, because I’m a good dog. Near the end, there was a very steep climb, so I attached myself to the spare hooman with my bungee lead and pulled her up like a true sled dog. She should thank me, really.

Back at the Mansion

By the time we reached the car, we were all exhausted. While the hoomans shopped at the supermarket, I grabbed a quick power nap. Back at the mansion, I stretched out my tired paws on the giant sofa while the hoomans made dinner. The weather was lovely, so we ate outside on the patio. I kept a close eye on those freaky orange fish in

the water bowl—they’re still up to no good.

Later, we all piled back onto the sofa for a quiet evening of TV. It was the best day yet—forests, rivers, zoomies, and fields made for a very happy pup.

Dad says tomorrow we’re heading to a new country—Germany. Apparently, that’s where my ancestors come from. This travelling is exhausting, though, so I’m off to bed—in the hoomans’ room, of course.

Best & Worst Bits

**Best Bit of the Day:** Running wild through the massive field,

zooming through the long grass with my tail wagging like mad. Pure joy.
**Worst Bit of the Day:** Getting my head stuck in the crate last night. Truly traumatic.
