**My Big Adventure – Day 16 – Echternach**
—
Slow Start
I woke Mum at 7:30 with my signature cold-nose-to-the-face move. She grumbled, of course, but it’s my duty. The hoomans were lazy this morning—they didn’t leave until 9:30! Thankfully, the spare

hooman rescued me with a quick dander while Dad took yet another shower. (Honestly, how dirty can one man get?)

Brunch & a Surprise
We drove to a town called Echternach. First up: breakfast—or, as the hoomans called it, *brunch.* They stuffed themselves with plates of food while I was given *one* measly treat. Outrageous. After brunch,

we walked along the river, and Dad said the other side was Germany. Very cool. But then Mum said the magic words: *dog park.* My ears perked up—I thought I must’ve misheard. Nope. An enclosed park, all mine! No other doggos, so Dad and I played fetch until my tongue hung out, while Mum sat on a bench and sunbathed.

Around the Lake
After fetch, we walked the whole way around the big water bowl (lake). Ducks, geese, swans—so many things to watch! A swan hissed at me, rude bird, but I kept strutting. We stopped for drinks at an outdoor café where I met a friendly husky. We wanted to play, but of course the hoomans ruined it and said no. (They are always ruining my fun.) Before heading back to the car, we stopped by the dog park

*again* for even more fetch until I was totally exhausted.
—
Afternoon Snooze
Back at the hotel, I collapsed into my bed and passed out instantly. The hoomans also napped—lightweights. I was generous enough to let them snooze for over an hour (you’re welcome), then I demanded entertainment. We went for a short walk to the shop (closed, typical), then sat on the hotel patio for beers. I supervised with some quality people-watching.

Evening Adventures

For dinner, we went to a Japanese restaurant. The hoomans had sushi, and I chilled on the balcony, paws dangling, watching the passers-by. I even growled at a cat—don’t judge me, it’s my doggy right. After dinner, we strolled back to the hotel to settle in for the night.

Final Thoughts
It was more of a chill day, but I guess even hoomans deserve one off now and again. Tomorrow, we’re off to Belgium—a place called Ghent—for a short stop before heading back to Calais for the shuttle. All I’m saying is… the next place better have a sofa.
Best & Worst Bits
**Best Part:** Fetch at the dog park—twice! Heaven.
**Worst Part:** That sushi smelled amazing and I got none.
